Betty Miles
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Betty Miles is the wife of the Secretary of State of South Carolina, Jim Miles.  She joined Excel only after her husband thoroughly examined Excel and the marketing opportunity to make sure it was legitimate.  No wife of his was going to get involved in one of those 'pyramid deals'.  They even went to Dallas and met with Excel founder Kenny Troutt and toured the company.  When they came home Jim told his son "What they do is excellent, legitimate and if you do this business you'll never need a job. " (Quoted from an article in Success Magazine)      Note: Get a copy of Betty's  book "The New American Dream"

Steve Shulz and Pat Hintze
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steve, a former teacher and Pat who worked in a local factory in Milwaukee were high school buddies.  They debated about whether to join Excel, worrying 'What if it doesn't work?', until Pat's wife asked them 'What if it does?'  For a couple of hundred bucks, isn't it worth it to give it a shot?'  End of debate.  They joined Excel as partners and are an active force in the Excel leadership today.

Senator Mike Rose
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
State Senator of South Carolina for 9 years, Mike Rose was also an attorney, Harvard MBA and business owner.  He studied dozens of businesses throughout his career and after losing an election, a volunteer who worked in one of his offices dropped off some copies of information about Excel and left the message 'Give this to Senator Rose, it will help him pay off his campaign debts.'  He looked at it and immediately called Jim Miles.  'Is this thing legit?' he asked.  'Absolutely' was the reply.  Mike and Vivian joined Excel and in less than three years quit all other pursuits to do Excel full-time.

Mike & Barbara Lammons
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before we joined Excel, we had owned health clubs and several other traditional businesses. After we had sold them and began to take a break, Barbara went to an Excel meeting to find out what it was all about. After she shared the information with me, I told her that I was not interested. She pursued it on her own, anyway. Barbara was fascinated by the prospect of making money from people talking on the phone. It certainly wouldn't hurt to at least go out and get some customers to give the business a try, she thought. Later, I also got interested in the Excel business as the potential became clear.

How has Excel impacted our life?  Excel has provided us with total financial freedom. It allowed us to pay off substantial business debts that we had accumulated. We also like the fact that this is not a traditional business that requires employees, and yet we're still able to make money from the efforts of others. We can work with whom we want to work with, work where we want to and buy what we want to.

Al Thomas
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In December of 1990, Al Thomas was giving a talk to a group of first-time home buyers in Sacramento. After the talk, a man from the front row came over and said, "You'd be good at this." Good at what? Al wanted to know. "... at network marketing." Al Thomas laughs as he remembers the encounter. "My first thought was, 'I can't do that. I'm a professional!' " Al went anyway, saw a presentation -- he was in.

Excel was then only two years old, operating in seven states. They had recently opened in California. Al started working the business part time; within a year and a half, he had left his 6-figure real estate business for good. By his third year, he was earning over $60,000 a month and has been in the top ten income earners at Excel ever since.

Beth Hinson-Phillips / Single Mom
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beth Hinson-Phillips had a new baby and overdue bills when she started her Excel business. She was not looking for the millions, a plane, and a Mercedes that she enjoys now, when she began. She just wanted to pay her bills on time, and this business has allowed her to certainly do that, and much more.

Brett Dabe / Entrepreneur
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brett graduated from college and immediately began working for himself. Today, he lives and works out of a $500,000 home which allows him to control his own schedule and spend more time at home with his wife and children.

Katie Tusa / College Student
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

After 5 years is in this business, Katie Tusa walked out of college with a molecular biology degree and NO DEBT!  She was able to own her own condo by the beach and drive a brand new Jaguar. The business allows her to work for herself and help others achieve whatever they want out of life.

A change of Lifestyle
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a few more successful Excel Reps.  This group is from California. All are in their 20's and have been Excel Reps ranging from under a year to 5 years or so.  None of them have any special business talent other than a desire to succeed.  All of them have changed their lifestyle, and their family's for generations to come.

Larry Wright
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, so I haven't made a million dollars... yet.  But I have made enough to buy my first BMW in 1997 after being an Excel Rep for 3 years (it took me two years to even get started!).  My income from Excel has been a welcome supplement to my disability income.  When I became disabled in 1993 I was facing a 40% cut in income in switching from my salary to disability insurance.  Could you live on 40% less?  Not me.  I had to find something I could do that didn't count as a 'job' yet provided additional income.  Call it fate, call it luck, whatever you call it a former co-worker showed me Excel in February 1994.  I did some research, went to a few meetings, listened and learned.  I couldn't find a good reason not to do it.  It was practically a no-brainer.  The risk was trivial and the potential reward was unbelievable. So I joined. Why not? Excel offers quality products and services and I can stand behind them with my friends and family.  The rest is simple.  My Excel income has helped pay for cruises, travel and many other extras.  I call it the 'icing on my income'.  After 9 years I still believe it's one of the best financial moves I've ever made.

Kenny Troutt and Steve Smith, founders of Excel
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The whole fascinating story of Excel can't be told in this short space, but briefly, Kenny Troutt founded Excel in 1988 by borrowing about $400,000 from a few personal friends.  He started as a regional reseller of commercial long-distance in Texas.  About a year later he was approached by Steve Smith who believed that the fastest way to expand Excel nationally was by using network marketing.  After several meetings he convinced Kenny to allow him to try it.  So Steve became the first Excel Rep and is the 'grandfather' of all Excel Reps today.  In less than 8 years Excel had exceeded $1 billion in revenues and Kenny Troutt was listed on the Forbes 400 Richest People in America. Steve Smith, aside from owning planes and helicopters bought an entire town, Las Jitas, Texas.  Both have since retired from actively being involved with Excel.  Hey, with a billion dollars who needs to work? (Tip: Search the internet for Kenny and Lisa Troutt and you'll see what they do with all that spare time and money.)

Joe and Connie Mitchell, Founders and CEO of Vartec/Excel
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This phenomenal husband and wife team started Vartec, also based in Dallas, Texas, at their kitchen table in 1988.  They built a billion dollar company with a direct mail marketing approach.  When Excel came up for sale in 2001 they jumped at it.  They had watched Kenny and Steve build Excel at the same time they were building Vartec.  They recognized the incredible potential the combination would have as they began to open into the local phone markets against the Baby Bells in 2002 (now open in 19 states as of 10/24/02!).  This expansion, coupled with international expansion as other countries deregulate and open their phone monopolies to competition, will propel Vartec/Excel from a $2 billion company to a TEN billion company over the next several years.  More than TEN TIMES the millionaires (and hundreds of thousands of  thousands-aires!) will be created as Excel reps build their businesses into the local phone market, than were created after the long-distance market was deregulated in 1984.  The forward potential is absolutely stunning.

Will Your
Picture
Be Here
?

There are ten of  thouands of stories like these all across the U.S. and Canada. New stories are being created in the U.K. and Germany.  Still more will be created in the weeks and months ahead across Europe and Australia, as Excel/Vartec expands into the local phone markets across the U.S, and new international markets at the same time.  While other companies were cooking their books to look good to their shareholders (and are now facing massive layoffs and even bankruptcy), Vartec/Excel, a privately-held company, was building infrastructure, keeping costs down and setting the stage to take the industry by storm.  But that growth will require people.  People like me.  People just like you.

You can be a part of it.  What will your story be in 5 years?

Ok, Monex, I have QUESTIONS!  Tell me more...
